Whitton first joined Spanx in 2017.
Spanx has named a new CEO.
The women's shapewear and apparel brand’s board of directors has appointed Caroline (Cricket) Whitton a chief executive, promoting her from president and chief growth officer, where she led all revenue and growth efforts globally. As CEO, Whitton succeeds Kim Jones, who left in July.
Before joining Spanx in 2017, Whitton drove digital growth at retail brands including Design Within Reach, where she was head of digital marketing and e-commerce, and Wayfair, where she served as general manager of AllModern.com. As CEO of Spanx, will partner with Spanx's all-female board to execute the brand's ambitious growth plans, the company said.
In addition to the CEO appointment, Spanx’s board named Jeanne Jackson as executive chair. Jackson has held c-suite roles with Nike, Walmart.com, The Gap, Inc. and more, and currently serves on the boards of Moncler SpA, Monster Beverage, and Delta Airlines.
"I am honored to continue leading the incredible team at SPANX in this new capacity during this critical growth moment in the company's journey," said Whitton. "I'm energized by the opportunity to partner even more closely with Sara (Blakely), our visionary founder, and to collaborate with Jeanne."
As CEO of Spanx, Whitton will partner Spanx's all-female board to execute the brand's ambitious growth plans.
Founded by Sara Blakely in 2000, Spanx sells activewear, apparel, denim, shapewear, swimwear, intimates, leggings, hosiery and more at its stores and online. The company has been majority-owned by Blackstone since 2021.
"I have long admired the evolution and thoughtful expansion of the Spanx business. It has grown beyond its roots as a category-creator in shapewear and is increasingly recognized as a performance apparel business that cannot be defined by a single category," said Jackson. "The best is yet to come for Spanx, and I look forward to working with Cricket, Sara and the board to drive the brand to the next level."
