Black Friday comes to Best Buy early; stores to close on Thanksgiving

Best Buy is offering Black Friday deals before Halloween and store employees will have Thanksgiving Day off.

The consumer electronics retailer is launching its Black Friday Early Access for Members sale aimed at My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total loyalty program members on Friday, Oct. 27. Early Black Friday deals on product categories including TVs, computing, gaming, and electronic transportation will be offered to all shoppers starting Monday, Oct. 30.

The Best Buy Black Friday sale officially begins on Friday, Nov. 17 with deals across thousands of products; and the retailer’s Cyber Monday Savings Event will start on Sunday, Nov. 26, with thousands of deals up to 50% off top gifts.

Best Buy also announced that its brick-and-mortar stores will be closed Thanksgiving Day, but customers can still shop via its website and app.

Other Best Buy holiday offerings include:

• The Best Buy Holiday Gift Center, featuring curated gift lists and access to virtual sales experts.
• Starting Monday, Nov. 6, Best Buy stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
•  Beginning Sunday, Oct. 29, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. CT, shoppers can connect with a virtual sales expert from home, on BestBuy.com or through the Best Buy app. The retailer is also extending the hours shoppers can connect directly with a virtual sales expert over video, audio and chat.
• Best Buy will match a price consumers pay in one of its stores or digitally if it goes lower during the holiday season with the Holiday Price Match Guarantee. 
• With Best Buy’s Extended Holiday Return and Exchange Policy, most gifts purchased between Oct. 27 and Dec. 30 can be returned through Jan. 13.
• Best Buy is hosting a three-day gaming sale event from Oct. 20-22 with deals on hardware, games and accessories.

Best Buy unwraps real-time mobile holiday deals

Best Buy is also offering exclusive holiday discounts, in limited quantities, via its consumer app. The retailer is running a new holiday promotional program called Best Buy Drops. The campaign provides discounts on items such as product releases, limited runs, and launches, all in real time.

Each drop will only be available in limited quantities and exclusively through the Best Buy app. Drops will include special products and deals from a variety of categories, including gaming consoles and accessories, wearable devices, e-transportation products, small appliances, smart home, and toys. Multiple drops will occur nearly every week during the holiday season.
