Walmart is looking to attract holiday shoppers with a new service this year.

The retail giant has expanded its partnership with home services company Angi (formerly Angie’s List) to include holiday lights installation. The service is good for Christmas lighting purchased at Walmart or already owned by the customer.

Nearly all of the Christmas lights sold by Walmart (in-store and online) will now have a QR code on the packaging that customers can scan to see a list of options for ordering installation services from Angie. Customers can select the service that best matches the size of their home, and can also book to have the lights removed. The services can be purchased for projects of any size.

"Installing Christmas lights can be one of the more challenging home projects to tackle during the busy holiday season,” said Brian Miller, head of growth, Angi Services. “This year we’re proud to be Walmart’s exclusive partner for Christmas lighting installation. We are here to take away the stress, hassle and make it easier than ever to book one of the great pros found on Angi to get your job done.

In January, Walmart partnered with Angi to enable customers to book flooring, painting, plumbing, electrical, TV mounting and other home services with Angi. Customers can book the services in-store or online.

“We are excited to offer this convenient service at an incredible value to help our customers decorate their home for the holidays,” said Marlena Bond, VP, seasonal and celebrations, Walmart U.S. “More than 90% of our holiday lights packages now come with a QR code, linking customers to Angi’s highly-rated network of installation pros right on the spot – helping customers save both time and money.”
