Casto’s script for turning a neighborhood market into a mixed-use center has just landed a star player.
Three years into its remake of the Thurber Village neighborhood center in Columbus, Casto has signed Lucky’s Market as its grocery anchor and marks the occasion as the project turning point.
Casto, whose portfolio includes mixed-use, retail, and more than 6,000 multifamily units over 26 million sq. ft. of commercial property, is based in Columbus.
“Executing this very unique mixed-use redevelopment plan has been a years-long group effort and we are looking forward to seeing it come to life. We’ve heard many requests about the desire for a grocer in this location and we are delighted to deliver this wonderful community amenity,” said Casto VP of development and leasing Eric Leibowitz.”
The Thurber Village mixed-use center will include a 13,000-sq.-ft. CVS along with the 21,000-sq.-ft. Lucky’s supermarket. Brand new on the western half of the site will be 225-unit apartment units.
“We couldn’t be happier to be a part of the redevelopment of Thurber Village and bring a brand new Lucky’s Market to this growing and thriving community,” said Lucky’s VP Aaron Saltzman. “Our family has been in the grocery business in Northeast Ohio since 1930. As Buckeye alumni and former Columbus residents, we know and love the area.”
