Lowe’s named Juliette Pryor as executive VP, chief legal officer and corporate secretary.
Lowe's Companies has named a new chief legal officer.
The home improvement retailer has appointed Juliette Pryor as executive VP, chief legal officer and corporate secretary, effective May 3. She succeeds Bill McCanless, who has served in the role since 2015, and told the company last year that he intended to retire at the end of May.
Pryor joins Lowe’s from Albertsons Companies, which she joined in 2021, as executive VP, general counsel and corporate secretary. Before joining Albertsons, she served as the general counsel of Cox Enterprises and as general counsel and chief compliance officer of US Foods.
Pryor She started her career as in-house counsel at IBM Corporation and later served as legal advisor to the vice chairman of the U.S. International Trade Commission.
"Juliette is an incredibly accomplished executive with an outstanding legal background, and the breadth and depth of her experience will be a great asset to Lowe's," said Marvin Ellison, Lowe's chairman and CEO. "Juliette is an exceptional leader with strong legal and business acumen, and I'm excited that she will be part of our executive leadership team."
In separate news, Lowe’s announced it will donate $500,000 to continue to support relief and recovery efforts across the nation's heartland after dozens of destructive and deadly tornadoes in recent weeks.
The donation will assist Lowe's disaster relief partners including the American Red Cross and Lowe's nonprofit Pro customers, helping these organizations provide emergency shelter, critical relief supplies, food and comfort to those affected by the tornado outbreak.
Lowe's is also expanding financial assistance provided to associates through the Lowe's Employee Relief Fund. Lowe's is doubling the company's match, contributing $2 for every dollar an employee donates. Last year, the fund helped nearly 3,000 associates with more than $4.1 million in financial aid.
With total fiscal year 2022 sales of over $97 billion Lowe's operates more than 1,700 home improvement stores and employs approximately 300,000 associates.
