Dollar Tree has named a new chief supply officer.
Dollar Tree has named a veteran from its chief rival to a key leadership position.
The discounter said that Mike Kindy is joining the company as chief supply officer. He brings more than 34 years of management experience in retail logistics and operating distribution centers.
Prior to joining Dollar Tree and Family Dollar, Kindy spent more than 12 years at Dollar General, where he served in multiple leadership roles, most recently as executive VP, global supply chain.
Dollar Tree is led by Dollar General veteran Rick Dreiling, who expanded his role as executive chairman to take the reins of the company. at the beginning of this year. Dreiling served as CEO of Dollar General from 2008 until his retirement in 2015, and as chairman from 2008 to 2016.

Prior to Dollar General, Kindy held leadership positions at ConAgra Foods, Safeway and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Dollar Tree's fiscal 2023 outlook calls for new store growth of 600 to 650 stores, with 43% of the growth occurring in the first half of the year.
Dollar Tree operated 16,340 stores across 48 states and five Canadian provinces as of January 28, 2023. Stores operate under the brands of Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree Canada.
