On-demand delivery from DoorDash is now available at all of Giant Eagle's locations.
Giant Eagle and DoorDash have expanded their partnership to include on-demand delivery.
The expansion comes after Giant Eagle and DoorDash first partnered in 2022 to pilot the service in select stores in Ohio. Consumers are now able to utilize DoorDash to order groceries and daily essentials to be delivered the same day in under an hour, on average, directly to their door from all Giant Eagle and Market District locations.
Giant Eagle customers can order on-demand through the DoorDash Marketplace mobile app or website. Additionally, Giant Eagle’s myPerks loyalty program can be connected through the DoorDash app experience so members can continue to earn rewards when they shop through DoorDash.
All participating Giant Eagle locations will be available on DashPass, DoorDash’s membership program that offers members $0 delivery fee, reduced service fees, and member-only benefits on eligible orders.
“Our partnership with DoorDash is just another way to conveniently order groceries from Giant Eagle, whether customers choose to use our longstanding, company-led curbside pickup and delivery service or the popular DoorDash platform,” said Justin Weinstein, Giant Eagle executive VP and chief strategy and marketing officer. “We continue to see increased demand for fast and convenient grocery delivery, and we recognize that many shoppers have come to rely on DoorDash for their real-time grocery needs. This expanded partnership helps to ensure that customers across all our markets have access to the products in our supermarkets regardless of how they choose to shop with us.”
The expanded partnership with Giant Eagle is DoorDash’s latest of several new initiatives. The delivery platform is now allowing select local consumers in Christianburg, Va. to order eligible menu items from Wendy’s and have them delivered via drones from Wing. Earlier this week, DoorDash bolstered its beauty options on the platform, as it announced that Sally Beauty and Sephora are building on established on-demand delivery programs with DoorDash, while MAC Cosmetics is launching a new partnership.
Founded in 1931 and headquartered in Pittsburgh, Giant Eagle Inc. operates 480 stores under the Giant Eagle, Market District, and GetGo banners throughout western Pennsylvania, north central Ohio, northern West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.
